Like most quilters, I've been sewing for as long as I can remember, starting on a Singer treadle in a previous century.
I morphed from clothing to quilting, briefly, back in the late 70's where, as a student I completed my first quilt from upholstery sample pieces. There were no 'rules' then. I still have that quilt, it takes pride of place on the back of my lounge. It's a great example of the fabric history from the 70's and it takes me back there.
'Real' quilting started at the beginning of the new century, I completed my first patchwork quilt & what can I say, my addiction had begun.
This eventually led to my investment in my A1 Longarm quilting machine in 2009, yet another addiction!
Since 2009, I have been fortunate to have completed an incredible amount of gorgeous quilts (see gallery
). It never ceases to amaze me the the talent that patchwork quilters have when it comes to creativity, style and colour. I am in awe.
